Rick and I just witnessed the most amazing blast of Autumn colors coming in while in Alaska. The scenery changed overnight from thousands of shades of green to a land carpeted red and orange, and pops of gold and yellow. We stood on our hotel balcony and drank it all in.
What’s amazing is the Autumn colors are always there. During spring and summer, leaves produce the chlorophyll responsible for the green when photosynthesis harnesses the sunlight, converts water and carbon dioxide into food. With shortened days, there is less sunlight. Photosynthesis stops. The carotenoid pigment reveals the reds, oranges, yellows and golds that have been hidden during the light-bright days. It only last a brief moment in time, and then winter comes.
Like Jesus’ Passion on the cross, and His death and time in the tomb.
I pray when I face trials in this life, the Holy Spirit will bring out the beautiful colors of faith. I pray...
