Heavy Winds

We had heavy winds the other night.  Hardly the tornadoes others have suffered in parts of the country, but severe enough that the program I was watching on television was interrupted to warn people of thunderstorms and a possible tornado coming into South San Francisco.  A surprising thing to hear in Northern California.

When I went outside the next day, debris from our oak tree was everywhere.  It seemed most of the new growth was torn right off the tree.  Small branches had broken off and lay all over the deck and downstairs patio.

Sometimes, when we first become Christians, we go through unexpected, unusual storms that shake up our new faith.  We can feel knocked down, broken.  Wasn’t becoming a Christian supposed to solve all our problems?

Remember, the Lord knows what dead wood needs to be cut off, what new growth needs to be trimmed back.  Trust Him.
